Inspired by loss, I found an image of Tristan and lsolde, one of the great romances ftom the middle ages, albeit a tragic one. I constructed a paper collage of the lovers in a boat with the score of Wagner's opera "Tristan und Isolde" in the background with accompanying words by Alexander Pushkin in the foreground. The piece was transferred to cotton, stitched and embellished. Private collection.
